We moved in to our new home at 1113 Main Street on April 1, 2012. It is the former home and art studio of IIona Rittler. It seems only fitting to honor her here in our first news letter at our new location.
IIona was an internationally renowned artist. At the age of 14 years old she was already an accomplished painter. She completed her formal academic and fine arts education in pre World War II Europe. She continued to study under various painters of the time in Budapest, Salzburg and Rome. She established and operated the “Exhibitors Gallery and IIona Rittler School of Fine Arts” on Main Street in Bellevue for over 50 years, actively teaching and painting until she passed away at the age of 93.
In her school, spanning over a half century, IIona and her staff taught thousands of students both professionals and amateurs of all ages, thus her passion became their passion. Painting was IIona life and it gave her joy to share her inner creative fire with others. We hope to carry on her tradition of creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. We want to share with you our valued client her love of being creative by offering you a salon that is not a hair factory.
We want to present to you interesting art and offer you a collection of independent staff members who customize their services to fit you in a low-key relaxing atmosphere. We are honored to be able to be in such an amazing space that housed a remarkable woman.
